Biliary. In the following lecture you will learn to incorporate ultrasound in the evaluation of abdominal pain, especially right upper quadrant (RUQ) and epigastric pain, for diagnosis of biliary disease. The gallbladder will be evaluated with emphasis on identification of cholelithiasis and identification of signs of cholecystitis. Residents will learn to evaluate gallbladder wall thickness, the size of the common bile duct (CBD), pericholecystic fluid, and the sonographic Murphy’s sign.
